Phase 1 of Move Complete
The first Phase of a move designed to take Envirodoors Enviro-Plast and Holmdahl Steel doors manufacturing capabilities into the future has recently been completed. The move will ensure that manufacture process becomes more efficient and environmental friendly. Envirodoor Managing Director Mike Roberts said “efficiency and environmental issues are two items which are at the forefront of our company ethos. We will continue to search for methods of improving the service given to our loyal customers whilst seriously taking into consideration the environmental issues that all manufacturing processes generate”
Envirodoor to Strengthen IT Capabilities
With the thought of IT being a major contributor to its performance, Envirodoor has decided strengthen its IT capabilities by investing in modern high speed computer and server equipment. Group Finance & IT Manager David Dixon said “the upgrade to the latest Dell Quad Core servers running Microsoft Server 2008 will provide a resilient and protected infrastructure. This will allow remote access and better communication to our employees in the field and an excellent platform to develop the systems already in place”
Energy Saving Measure
Envirodoor has managed to drastically reduce its energy consumption costs by simply investing in the double glazed window units at its Hull head office. Local double glazing manufacturer Vulcan windows, supplied and installed replacement windows to every opening available. Envirodoor Service & Repair Manager Daniel Westmorland said “the difference made to the internal office environment was an immediate one. There is notably far less noise pollution and the internal temperature is easily maintained without having to boost the heating system. Furthermore, the maintenance costs have been virtually taken away since Upvc is maintenance free. In summary, we are very pleased with the result”
Love Thy Neighbour
Envirodoor were more that pleased to assist their temporary new neighbours, Beal Homes, when a Health & Safety issue came to the fore. Beal Homes, who are currently in the midst of building a number of new homes adjacent the Envirodoors head office in Willerby, Hull, faced a parking problem which saw a number of their workforce being forced to park on the adjacent street which subsequently caused problems and congestion for commuters. General Manager Leroy McKenzie said “I was approached by Richard Beal, the Managing Director of Beal Homes who I’ve known for a number of years through our association with Hull RUFC. Richard explained the problem and fortunately we were able to assist by offering parking to their staff, on our premises, until such time that a new road is built on their site. We were more than happy to help. I’m hoping he’ll return the favour by considering our Whirlwind, Enviro-Plast or Envirolite doors when Beal’s are undertaking one of their commercial projects”
